Philadelphia zoo 

Many people have visited a zoo at least once in their lifestime.  I was not as fortunate.  There are 15 children in my family.  Both of my parents worked and they were very strict about what we did and where we went.  My siblings and I found ways to occupy ourselves while at home.  We had a car but didn't go many places.  I do remember going to a farm when I was younger and bringing home a little chickie.  Other children would talk about animals at a zoo.  Even my own children have been to a zoo.  I was always fascinated with animals, even though I didn't want to get too close.

Finally, it was my turn!  I saw so many different animals and was very excited.  It didn't cost too much and it wasn't too far.  In season, the cost for people 12 years and up is $18.  Children between ages 2 and 11 pay $15 and children under 2 years are free.  There are also family packages available for members, group tickets, guided tours, and other offers.  If you want to go to the zoo in the winter, the prices are a little cheaper.  It took only 56 minutes from my home in Reading, PA to get there. 

Come see for yourself, but watch it...don't get too close. 

Sight & Sound Millenium

Another first for me was going to the Sight & Sound Millenium Theatre in Lancaster County, PA.  I went with a group of people from my church in Pottstown, PA.  This was a very spiritual adventure.  Sight & Sound has live Christian shows such as: "Behold the Lamb"; "Miracle of Christmas"; and "In The Beginning".  The show I saw was "In The Beginning".  This was awesome.  I felt like a little kid watching angels fly around and real animals were a part of the show.  What an experience!  The show lasted around 2 hours and 30 minutes.  There were small kiosks where one could purchase apparel, music/DVD's, accessories & gifts, books, and food.  If you want to experience a spiritual adventure, stop in and see one of the shows.
